Embracing inclusion at Strawberry Fields High School, Chandigarh.

What a memorable experience to work with the dedicated educators at Strawberry Fields High School! A huge thank you to Nisha Kaul and Shabnam Singha for your incredible hospitality and warm welcome - your passion for education and commitment to your learners truly stood out. You were both amazing, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to collaborate.

Located at the foothills of the Shivalik range, Chandigarh is not just another city - it's a symbol of modern India’s vision. Designed by the legendary architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh is India’s first planned city post-independence and is often hailed as “The City Beautiful.” With its wide, tree-lined boulevards, thriving green spaces, and world-famous Rock Garden made entirely of recycled materials, it’s a place where structure meets creativity - much like inclusive education.

This blend of thoughtful design and innovation made it the perfect place to dive into conversations around diverse learner needs. In today’s classrooms, diversity is the norm - and when we embrace that, we begin to shift from a one-size-fits-all approach to one that is inclusive, responsive, and empowering. By planning proactively for learner variability through frameworks like Universal Design for Learning, we don’t just accommodate differences - we celebrate them.

Each session reaffirmed a truth I hold dear: inclusive practices unlock potential, build agency, and create belonging. And isn’t that what all great learning environments strive for?

Next stop: The Bombay International School in the vibrant, coastal city of Mumbai. Chandigarh - your creativity, care, and commitment to inclusive education have truly left a mark. Thank you for an inspiring visit.
